Getting there
Driving in
Come in through Palaia (about 10 minutes away) rather than the southern road — the southern approach is a rough gravel track. Toiano is 2 minutes away, Montaione about 20. If you're renting a car, Italy requires an International Driving Permit (often called an International Driver's License). You can get one at your local AAA store for $20; they take your photo and handle the paperwork, and walk-ins are welcome.
Shuttles
Four shuttles run between Florence and Villa Lena — the full schedule and who's on each one is just below. If you're not on a shuttle, a taxi or rental car from Florence takes roughly 75 minutes.
Airports
Florence (FLR) is closest; Pisa (PSA) is about the same drive. Rental cars are easiest to pick up at Florence airport.

If you need us
A few small things
- Italy uses type F/L plugs and 230V — bring an adapter.
- October evenings in Tuscany drop to around 54°F. A jacket earns its place.
- Bar tabs and extras go to your room and are settled at check-out.
- Please keep phones away during the ceremony — the photographers have it covered.
